I’ll be honest, this will take a bit of adjusting. It’s a little difficult to figure out how to pump it up, because their is no way of fixing the hose to the hand pump. You have to find a way to hold the nozzle in the tube, and pump at the same time, which can be a little bit tricky. Then, once you have figured it out, you’re going to be pumping for quite a bit to get this started. And, once you have got it inflated, you’ll probably have to spend a couple nights adjusting the volume of air to get the affect you want. Also, if you’re used to sleeping to one side of your bed, you’ll need to get used to sleeping in the middle. Otherwise, this just won’t work.
So, why did I give it a four star rating, with all these problems? Because once those problems are resolved and you actually get this product to work correctly, it’s wonderful. It brings new life into a sagging mattress, allowing you to postpone the purchase of a new one. And in these difficult economic times, it’s always a relief to be able to plan when you can buy a new mattress, rather than being forced to buy one as an emergency.
I have back problems that were made worse by my sagging mattress. I noticed a significant improvement after the first night I was able to use it correctly (The third night I owned it) My back has continued to improve. I’ve also noticed that my legs or arms don’t fall asleep (getting that pins and needles feeling when I wake up) like they used to. And, my bed even looks better, without that sagging valley in the middle.
I’ve had this for a couple of months and it’s still going strong. I do find I have to add a few pumps of air every couple weeks, to keep it going strong, but now that I know how to handle the pump, it doesn’t take long at all and it’s worth it.
I wouldn’t say this is a permanent solution, eventually I will have to break down and get a new mattress. However, I have bought myself some valuable time, which I can use to save up for a better quality mattress. Had I been unable to find this product, I would have had to rush out and buy a cheaper mattress.
When it comes to shopping for a new mattress, it can mean a big decision for some people. Just like shopping for a car, laptop, mp3 player or a washing machine, you need to do your homework before deciding which mattress to go for.
It means several hundred dollars of savings or a peaceful night sleep. If you take into consideration the amount of time you spend on it, shopping for a mattress is really no small task!
You may or may not have bought a mattress before. Consumer research has found that most people change their mattress every five to seven years. Hence, it is not surprise not many people are able to compare features and specifications as well as a hand phone or a mp3 player.
Here are some tips to get you started.
Mattress Size
First, you need to know what kind of mattress size you want. There are several options here, from single, twin, queen to California king mattress. The bigger the mattress, the more it will costs you. If space and your budget permit, I would recommend you to go for the largest mattress as it is more comfortable and luxurious. Do make sure your bed set is able to accommodate the size you want.
Mattress Type
You have several options when it comes to choosing a mattress. Air Mattresses, futon, latex and memory mattress are the four most common types around. Each has its own usage and purposes. If you are planning to go for a camping, an air mattress will be practical as it is easily portable. A futon would be ideal for guest use whereas latex mattresses are a good choice if you are prone to allergies. Memory is more heat sensitive and is suitable for those who want a mattress that is neither too hot nor too cold.
The last thing you need to know is that the salesperson attending to you is on a commission basis. They will say whatever they can to commit you to a buy. Remember ask for any freebies or discounts before you agree to the purchase. Always check the warranty period and read over the fine prints in the terms and conditions of sale. You never know when you are going to need to revert back to these documents when things go wrong.

Should a pillow top on a mattress be the same size as the mattress it's attatched to?
I just recieved my new Cal King mattress which is supposed to be 72" wide x 84" long. My 6' 8" tall hubby (for whom the length is important) noticed it seemed short. After measuring the king mattress for sale pillow top we found it was! It is 82" long on one side and 80.5" long on the other for length. The width is 70" on the bottom and 71" at the top. We paid (on sale) $5,680.00 for this mattress--on sale. Would you expect the pillow top to be the measurements stated on the tag or is this normal to be this much off? This is the 4th mattress they have delivered to us. The first was damaged and off in the measurements. The 2nd and 3rd had grease stains. This one looks great except it's off again in the measurements. Thanks!
